we are so far from home
i went to space center houston today and met the ceo and a few other cool people, it was super fun! we took pics!
William (far right) was telling us a bunch about boston and what it’s like to live there since i told him i plan to go to MIT, it sounds super cool there!!! he said its hard to have a car there though because the public transportation is so much better to use and that parking is difficult and it’s much more pedestrian friendly there than what we’re used to in houston, so mom will probably take care of charlie (my car) while i’m there, oh! and funny enough the transit thing is called charlie pass, so even still he will be with me in spirit
and Sarah (far left) gave me a moon stress ball to match my star stress ball! (i’m holding it in the picture) Millie was also very nice :D, she's second to the left, and mom is standing next to me
i had a super fun time seeing all the exhibits after so long, so many have been added! when i was i think 8 years old? they were introducing the mission mars exhibit and i got to be in the commercials for it! it was super fun to film, and now there’s so many more exhibits too :D
mom and i are on the way home right now but we hit a bad pothole and it sliced our tire so we’re pulled over on the on ramp right now waiting for road side assistance to show up (it’s 11:26pm :/ ) so charlie got his first flat :( i’m currently writing this in my notes app and i’ll post it when we get home so when you see this, know victory was won
back to the day at nasa though so i can get my mind off the car stuff, next time we go we’re planning on actually going on all the tours, just when it’s less hot, we’re being boiled everytime we step outside in houston
while we walked around the museum i was telling mom all the little space facts i know and i told her how bread isn’t allowed in space because the crumbs fly everywhere so they use tortillas instead, and then about two minutes later, mom points to a sign saying the same little fact, it made me happy that i already know so much of the stuff in the museum, and i’ve been getting better with my russian, i can phonetically sound out all the words now so i’ve gotten really good at the cyrillic alphabet :D now i just have to figure out what the words mean haha :D
oh also i got some cool stuff from the gift shop! i got a hat that says “ROCKET SCIENTIST” and it made me laugh, and i have a new backpack for space camp now! it’s super cool! and i got a free postcard it’s 3d! it looks like a stop motion of an astronaut walking and some other stuff, i’ll add a pic when i can
i also got this tiny space shuffle plushie! his name is hopscotch!
i also visited my aunts yesterday and had a lot of fun hanging out with them and on the way there i saw this super cool cloud!
oh and wally’s gift arrived! happy early birthday wally!
we’re still waiting for a tow truck, it’s 11:45pm now, we’ve been here for almost 2 hours :/
at least it’s nice to listen to the music, right now we’re listening to electric light orchestra, sweet talkin’ woman
i might pull out my dvd player and watch dr stone since i brought my dvds lol
now we’re listening to depeche mode, world in my eyes, this song was played in space! i love listening to the songs they’ve played on missions, there’s a whole list of the songs played in space and the list is 88 pages long! if i had to pick one song to play in space and it wasn’t an obvious one like starman or any of the classics, i would want it to be a last shadow puppets song since they’re my favorite band, i love their rendition of wondrous place and i think that would be the one i’d want to play :)
the tow truck showed up around 12am, thankfully the truck driver was very nice, his name was nick, which was funny bc my mom and i had just been talking about new girl, and he took us to drop off charlie at a tire shop, tmro we’ll go when they’re open to get him a new tire, we made it back to the house now at least, it’s 1:23am, i am very tired, no pun intended.
i’ll post this in the morning probably, or after the charlie business more likely, for now, I Sleep.
